As AI reshapes how we read, write and learn, language education is being reimagined. This session will explore how AI can support and sharpen the teaching of Chinese and English writing.
In January 2025, with support from Hong Kong’s Quality Enhancement Support Scheme, HKSYU’s Language Centre established the AI-assisted Language Laboratory, integrating AI tools into everyday language learning. Drawing on this experience, the session introduces how AI can assist with writing practice, language analysis and personalised learning, while enabling educators to focus on what matters most: expression, critical thinking and humanistic values.
The session also reflects the ethical boundaries of AI in education, encouraging students to use technology thoughtfully and responsibly. Designed for Hong Kong primary and secondary school teachers and students, it invites participants to rethink how language learning can evolve — with technology as a partner, not a substitute.
