Background
Our team is comprised of talented, hard working individuals who have a passion for the environment and education. We value our community and hope that you can join us! To provide Hong Kong-based sustainable (permaculture) solutions for global environmental and social issues through experiential workshops and courses, nature-based wellness experiences and restorative projects which create a positive change in people's attitudes and actions towards the planet and towards each other.

To cultivate more caring, sustainable communities dedicated to taking action for people and planet and restoring respect for all living creatures and, in creating this community in Hong Kong, to be a leader in a global network of eco-facilities.
Since Ark Eden’s inception in 2006, over 45,000 people have been involved in Ark Eden experiential learning programs and courses. These cater for students from kindergarten to university level, as well as adults from business enterprises and community groups.
Programs and courses tackle issues concerning building, food, water, waste, energy, natural and sustainable living systems.. Our programs include: ecological restoration; composting and permaculture farming; waste management and zero-water practices; ecological building projects; habitat exploration; and, nature-based learning holiday camps. Our specialised staff and invited experts offer experiences to participants at our beautiful permaculture site in Mui Wo valley and other areas around Lantau Island.
Ark Eden’s ecological restoration project has planted over 33,000 native saplings onto hillsides left bare from repeated forest fires. Now, these hills boast 112 different native species of trees and have become home to a larger number of native animals.
Ark Eden is part of a larger community of Green Groups in Hong Kong which engage the public in a number of issues which pose serious environmental threats to the biodiversity of Lantau and Hong Kong. It also concerns itself with envisioning and creating alternative sustainable master-planning.
