Background

Hong Kong Guide Dogs Association is a registered charity in Hong Kong and all of our services are provided free of charge. We abide by the standards of the International Guide Dog Federation in all of our programs. HKGDA’s mission is to offer the visually impaired citizens of Hong Kong the option of using a guide dog as their primary mobility aid.

Mission & Vision

1. The breeding, raising and training of guide dogs 2. Matching trained dogs with accepted guide dog applicants 3. Proving comprehensive training for the clients in the safe and effective use of the guide dog 4. A volunteer puppy raiser program has been established to accommodate puppies entering the program. Puppy Raisers will be trained and supervised by the Puppy Raising Supervisor. 5. The current guide dogs users in Hong Kong will receive aftercare services from the Director of Business Development and Training. 6. A Guide Dog Health Support Fund has been established for Guide Dog Users in Hong Kong with an annual allowance of HK$4,000 per team to assist with veterinary treatment and medications.
