JCCAC strives to support arts development in Hong Kong. Spread over 200,000 square feet across nine storeys, this vertical artist village is the operation base for around 140 artists and cultural organisations of a wide array of art forms. Although more inclined towards visual arts, JCCAC is also well represented in applied and performing arts, and distinguishes itself in reserving almost a quarter of its studios to offer special support for nurturing emerging artists. As an arts centre, JCCAC houses the compact but well-equipped Jockey Club Black Box Theatre, plus a two-storey exhibition gallery, tea house, café and craft shops that encircle the Central Courtyard, as well as numerous small but quirky exhibition spaces dotted around the premises.
