OpenRoom

OpenRoom is an online sex education platform which established in 2016. It was initially composed of a group of young people dedicated to improve sex education in Hong Kong, including teachers, social workers, entrepreneurs, journalists and university students. Our goal is to help people understand sex and gender issues from multiple perspectives, to change the traditional style of sex education, and to improve sex education in Hong Kong in long run. The development of sex education in Hong Kong has been stagnant for a long time. From childhood to adulthood, we have been instilled with the idea that "sex" is not to be talked about. Everything about "sex" becomes taboo. We can only learn a little bit in the classroom, and the rest are just hearsay, or Internet. In view of this, OpenRoom promotes sexual equality through multimedia to provide a bigger room of discussion for the people so that they can learn sex and gender issues correctly with guidances.
