Background
Lions Kidney Educational Centre and Research Foundation (LKEC) is a registered Charitable Organization, with tax-exemption under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance in Hong Kong, was founded by the Lions Clubs, District 303, HK, Macao, China. LKEC devoted to educate the public in preventing kidney diseases through health promotions and to provide low cost high quality Haemodialysis services for kidney patients with financial difficulties. The idea of the Centre was concevied during the fiscal year 1987-1988.

To reduce the incidence of kidney diseases through health promotion and prevention;
To enhance the quality of life of kidney patients through self-reliance and social networking;
To contribute towards equity and global objective of health for all;
To provide low cost high quality Haemodialysis services to the needy patients.
