Background

Established in 1972 as a not-for-profit medical organization, United Christian Nethersole Community Health Service (UCN) is a sub-organization of United Christian Medical Service. (United Christian Medical Service is a sister organization of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital) UCN builds on a lineage of predecessor organization, namely 'Kwun Tong Community Health Project' and 'Nethersole Community Health Service', which were the pioneers of community healthcare service in Hong Kong. With the root stretching back to 1972, 'Kwun Tong Community Health Project' established the first Community Health Centre at Sau Mau Ping, providing the public with health promotion, education, prevention, diagnostic treatment, rehabilitation and community support services. 'Nethersole Community Health Service', another ancestor of UCN, started to provide similar kind of primary health service in Tai Po. The two projects implemented smoothly and beneficiaries grew with each passing
