Background

The vision for our volunteer HK Chapter is to share the work of Room to Read with Hong Kong residents and businesses. We support Room to Read's belief that education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and will focus our goals to help provide access to education to millions of children. Volunteering with Room to Read is not only a great way to help further Room to Read’s mission but also an opportunity to develop new skills and make connections with like-minded individuals. Mission & Vision

We Believe that World Change Starts with Educated Children.® We envision a world in which all children can pursue a quality education that enables them to reach their full potential and contribute to their communities and the world. Room to Read seeks to transform the lives of millions of children in low-income communities by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Working in collaboration with local communities, partner organizations and governments, we develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children, and support girls to complete secondary school with the relevant life skills to succeed in school and beyond.
