Background

SILENCE (former named Silence Association) was set up at 2008, a registered charity at IRD Session 88. SILENCE is a member of The Community Chest, Hong Kong Council of Social Services and recognized charity in Wise Giving.
Mission & Vision
Our Mission We serve the hearing impaired, aiming to inspire and unleash individual talent and harness collective strength. In doing so, we aspire to build a harmonious and barrier-free world. Our Objectives 1. Promote and popularize sign language We develop sign language curriculum and hold regular and / or customized classes for government, education institution, corporate enterprise and other social organization. 2. Career and Job Placement Assistance Provide employment counseling, job placement, job referral and other related services with follow up support. 3. Social Advocacy Gather the collective power of the hearing impaired and other similar interest groups to promote a barrier free society. 4. Develop Life Education Through multi-faceted exposure in culture, the arts and other forms of recreation, Silence helps develop a well-rounded body and mind. Through this, we aim to inspire and unleash hidden potentials of our constituents, build self confidence and social skills.
