1) Sign up Go to breadline.hk to sign up with your Google account Input your WhatsApp mobile number 2) Choose your run(s) Choose the date(s) you want to run Choose the shops you want to collect from - tap on the pins 3) Preparation for the day Bring your own bags to collect the breads - 2 IKEA sized bags would be good, otherwise 4 or 5 normal reusable bags. 4) At the shop Arrive before the shop closing time Count and load the bread into your bags Record the bread amount on the Breadline app 5) Drop-off Bring the collected bread to the Drop-off Point (choose the drop location on the app) Our team will be there to meet you Notes: - There is no meeting point/check-in time. Volunteers go directly to their selected shops, which have different closing times. - Breadline do not have a certificate or letter of participation for volunteers.

Everyday in Hong Kong, over 3,250 tonnes of food waste are dumped into landfills, while one in five people live in poverty and struggle to eat. Breadline is Hong Kong’s first public digital platform for food rescue. Volunteers connect with bakeries on Breadline.hk to rescue leftover bread using real-time updates to make every run count. Together, we save resources from being wasted and we support the homeless; low-income families; refugees and their children and the elderly poor, by delivering bread the same night to our grassroots partners. We are looking for volunteers who are flexible, independent and reliable. All volunteers are welcome though we strongly encourage return volunteers - why not make this meaningful run part of your routine? Breadline operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays evenings. We have grown from a small, four-friends activity to a large city-wide endeavour with 3 cars, 4 NGOs and 5 bakery chains, involving 170+ bakeries and thousands of volunteers.
