Hong Kong generates thousands of tonnes of food waste daily, much of it still safe to eat. Join us at Lei Muk Shue Estate Market to collect surplus food from vendors for redistribution. Through this hands-on experience, you'll help reduce waste and support those in need. 香港每天產生數千噸廚餘，其中不少仍然安全可食用的食材卻被送往堆填區，既浪費資源，也對環境造成沉重負擔。你將前往荃灣梨木樹邨街市，向合作商戶收集仍可安全食用的剩餘食物，經檢查處理後，重新分配予區內有需要的街坊。透過參與，你不僅可親身了解食物浪費的問題，並為減廢及資源重新分配出一分力。 Date: 6 Nov 2026 (Fri) Time: 4:30 - 9pm Venue: Kwai Chung Gathering Time & Venue:  (i) 4:30pm @HKUST Campus; or                                              (ii) 5:30pm @Lei Muk Shue Estate

1. Successful applicants will receive a confirmation email from connect@ust.hk, and will be able to find their application status listed as "Confirmed" on the Social Career portal/app. 2. One-way transportation from HKUST to the Kwai Chung venue will be provided. Participants may also travel to the venue on their own. No return transportation will be provided. 3. [HMAW1905] This is a recognized event in the "Self-directed Experience" component of HMAW1905: Behavioral Foundations of University Education: Habits, Mindsets, and Wellness. To receive 3 hours, you must attend the event in full and miss no more than 10 mins. 4.
