As people age, their muscle mass and strength gradually decline, which affects their mobility and ability to care for themselves. Many elderly individuals reduce physical activity due to fear of injury, further accelerating muscle loss, worsening balance, and reducing opportunities for social interaction. In the long run, this may increase the risk of developing chronic diseases.
In response to this, four students from the Connect Ambassador for Community Engagement (Connect ACE) program are collaborating with the Tseung Kwan O Elderly Services Building to launch this service project. We are now recruiting volunteers to become fitness partners for the elderly. Volunteers will encourage the elderly to exercise through games, assist them with training and activities, provide on-site guidance, and help them cultivate a regular exercise routine. Your support will help elderly community members build healthy habits and reduce health risks associated with aging!
