Redress Sort-A-Thon: The environmental charity Redress will be running a sorting marathon called Sort-A-Thon with the aim of sorting through all the clothing collected in the Get Redressed Clothing Drive. Volunteers will be needed to set up for the event and help sort through the collected clothing to categorize it for resale, up-cycling, recycling or reused by our 20+ local charity partners, depending on the type and quality of the clothing.
What You Will Be Doing During Set-Up Day:
1. Help to set up the clothing mountain & the site
2. Help create the clothing mountain by pouring clothes from unsorted clothing collection boxes
3. Replenish clothes on sorting tables from the clothing mountain
What You Will Be Doing During Event Day:
1. Replenish clothes on sorting tables from the clothing mountain
2. Support the sorting process by cross-checking clothes that are going to the right category
3. Provide support to participants regarding sorting-related questions.
*Due to the specific nature of these tasks,we'll ask all volunteers signing up for Sort-A-Thon event days (June 12-14) to also join a training session on May 16th afternoon (details will be sent by email). During the training, we'll teach you how the sorting is done so you can support others during the event.
What You Will Be Doing During Pack-Down day:
1. Ensure all the boxes are taped and categorised and ready to go out to Charities / Stay for Popup
2. Re-organise the space to get ready for Pop-up
