The COVID-19 crisis has led to a huge increase in the number of families having to seek emergency assistance from charities for their basic food necessities. This activity aims to help rescue surplus food stock and well manage them before giving away to people in need (e.g. low income families, children, seniors, the homeless, refugees, migrant workers, etc). Volunteers work in Feeding Hong Kong's warehouse in Yau Tong, assisting the staff with sorting, checking and packing the key staples, such as rice, noodle, cooking oil, and canned food into a single box, and each box can provide 14 meals to one family. Gloves will be provided to the volunteers.

Physically healthy, might need to lift boxes. If you have neck and back issues, or if you got your hands and legs injured, this volunteer activity might not be suitable for you. The ideal work attire is jeans and trainers. Open-toe shoes or heels are not allowed while working in the warehouse.
